In the 1970s, in the Gampaha district, Desmond Gunasekara (played by Pujan Dandeniya), a
deeply religious young man from a very ordinary family, accidentally clashes with a crime gang
led by a man named Gnane (Jagath Manuwarna) operating in the area.
During an incident where the gang pursues him and his friends, one of the gang members is
killed by Desmond. Desmond is remanded but is later released on bail and attempts to live a
respectable life by starting a fair business with his friends. However, Gnane and his crew do not
allow it, demanding protection money. Desmond stands up for justice and confronts the thugs,
successfully suppressing them.
Meanwhile, Gnane receives support from Michael (Shyam Fernando), a regional politician from
the ruling party, and Michael’s nephew, Police Inspector Dammika (Bimal Jayakody). It is these
individuals who enforce the lawlessness during the 1988-89 period of terror.
Under the shadow of this violence, Desmond’s younger brother, brother-in-law, and a close
friend are all killed by Michael and his associates. Furthermore, it is revealed that this group is
responsible for the murder of hundreds of young men.
Against the backdrop of the brutal murder of his loved ones, Desmond’s terrifying and ultimately
ironic revenge is finally executed.
